Overview

Hurricane Long 5 is DHS's flagship market blade and the retail sibling of the W968 line Ma Long has used at the top of the world game. In our guides it is referenced as the board whose lighter swings feel softer and closer to wood — the fibre is set so it stays out of the way until you really commit. That is what makes it so approachable: it does not force you to cope with fibre jump on every ball.

Feel & character

Pushes, short serves and gentle loops behave with a reassuring, wood-like honesty. When you accelerate into a full forehand or backhand loop, the blade holds the ball and then releases with a strong, linear push — the kind of controlled power DHS blades are known for.
